Day Care Centre Manager – Kildare

Location: Kildare
Contract: 3-Month Temporary Contract
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: DOE

Osborne Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Day Care Centre Manager to join a community-based organisation in Kildare on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with an immediate start.

The Day Care Centre Manager will have overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management and development of the Centre, working closely with service users, staff, volunteers and members of the local community.

The successful candidate will oversee a range of services supporting adults and older persons, including Meals on Wheels, in-house meals, transport and day activities, ensuring that services are delivered to a consistently high standard and promote dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Day Care Centre, ensuring high-quality, person-centred service delivery.
  • Oversee and develop services including Meals on Wheels, in-house meals, transport and activities.
  • Ensure services meet the social, physical, educational and wellbeing needs of service users.
  • Work closely with members, volunteers, families and community stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE, HIQA, Health and Safety Authority (HSA), Environmental Health Authority (EHA) and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented and maintained.
  • Maintain appropriate records, policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Support inspections, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate staff and volunteer rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to the team.
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, respect and person-centred care.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers receive appropriate training and understand their responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within a community, social care, day care, healthcare or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred service delivery and the needs of adults and older persons.
  • Experience managing staff and/or volunteers.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with budgets, administration and governance would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a compassionate and supportive approach.

Garda vetting is required for this position, and candidates must be available to commence immediately.
