Compliance & AML Officer

 We are proud to partner with our client who is a well-established community-focused financial institution to recruit a Compliance & AML Officer. The successful candidate will oversee the compliance, AML/CFT and compliance monitoring frameworks.

This is a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting and promoting a strong culture of risk awareness and compliance throughout the organisation.

Salary 40-45k DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual compliance monitoring plan and report findings.
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures in line with legislation and Central Bank requirements.
• Conduct and maintain the business-wide AML/CFT risk assessment.
• Oversee Customer Due Diligence, beneficial ownership checks, risk assessments and transaction monitoring.
• Manage Suspicious Transaction/Activity Reports and liaise with relevant authorities.
• Monitor changes to legislation, Central Bank guidance and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare monthly and annual AML reports for the Board and relevant committees.
• Deliver compliance and AML/CFT training to staff, volunteers and directors.
• Provide advice and effective challenge on compliance and AML/CFT matters.
• Ensure audit and regulatory recommendations are implemented within agreed deadlines.
• Liaise with the Central Bank of Ireland, auditors and other relevant external stakeholders.
• Work closely with Risk, Internal Audit and Data Protection functions.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, Financial Crime, Risk or a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish financial services regulation and AML/CFT requirements.
• Understanding of Customer Due Diligence, risk assessments, transaction monitoring and suspicious transaction reporting.
• Strong analytical, organisational and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical processes and procedures.
