Trade Counter/Warehouse with Forklift

Our client have been supplying roofing and building materials to the construction industry since the early 1950s. With a nationwide customer base and offices in Dublin (Ballycoolin Dublin 15 & Broomhill Dublin 24), Cork, and Belfast, they are a well-established and steadily growing company.

We are assisting them in the recruiting of a Trade Counter/Warehouse with Forklift to join their team. This position is full time permanent and will involve working 90% in their Ballycoolin Dublin 15 branch and 10% in Broomhill Dublin 24 to cover when short staffed.

Due to the different locations – Having own transport is essential.

Salary & Benefits

• €38,000
• Hours: Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm
• Holidays – 24 days
• Pension – Eligible to join company scheme
• VHI – Eligible to join company scheme.
• Wages paid on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting and greeting customers at the trade counter
• Selling directly to customers and processing orders
• Handling sales calls and orders via phone and email
• Stock control and general office administration
• Supporting field sales representatives
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers
• Picking orders for customer collections and deliveries
• Operating counterbalance and high-reach forklifts

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in a trade counter, warehouse, or building materials environment of a minimum of 2 years is required
• Valid counterbalance and reach forklift licenses (essential)
• Strong customer service and sales skills
• Good level of commercial awareness
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment
• Basic computer skills (email, order processing, stock systems)
