Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Kilkenny

Salary: DOE

Osborne are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Production Manager to lead their manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, people and productivity.

The successful candidate will lead production teams, ensure manufacturing targets are achieved and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

The role would suit an experienced manufacturing professional with strong people leadership skills and a structured, data-driven approach to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operation and ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Manage and develop Production Supervisors and manufacturing teams.
  • Plan labour, materials, equipment and resources to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, throughput and performance against targets.
  • Identify production constraints and bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Use production data and KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
  • Promote high standards of Health & Safety, quality and housekeeping.
  • Drive a Right First Time approach to manufacturing and support quality management systems.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Procurement, Quality, Warehousing and Operations to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Support the development of manufacturing processes, automation, equipment and future capacity.
  • Provide regular production performance updates to senior management.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience managing and developing manufacturing production teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering production targets within a structured manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.
  • Experience with production planning, resource allocation and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Technically minded with the ability to understand manufacturing processes and technical information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Experience within modular construction, off-site manufacturing, timber frame, building products or a similar environment.
  • Qualification in Production Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification.
  • Experience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
