Lead Security Engineer – Manchester/Hybrid

About the Role
Working on the launch of a brand-new platform, you will lead all aspects of security for the platform. That means security reviews, threat modelling, external testing, handling reports and giving the sign-off before launch.
Responsibilities
- Drive platform-wide security reviews and threat modelling
- Lead external security testing and vulnerability management
- Own launch security approvals and risk management processes
- Bridge the gap between security, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Support security across authentication, APIs, billing, Studio, infrastructure, and model tooling areas
Primary Skills
- Proven experience securing production applications at scale
- Capable of serving as the primary security lead with end-to-end accountability
- Skilled in risk-based decision-making, focusing on the highest-impact priorities first
- Eager to learn, grow, and embrace new challenges
- Accountable for outcomes and motivated by measurable results
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to experiment with new ideas
Desirable Skills
- Deep knowledge of authentication and identity systems, including OAuth2/OIDC, passkeys, sessions, and API keys
- Skilled in threat modelling, penetration testing management, and incident response
- Comfortable reviewing systems-level code, with Rust experience a plus
