Job Description

Sales Manager – Inside & Field Sales

Location: Monaghan Head Office
Working Model: Fully Onsite
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Salary: €75,000 – €80,000 DOE plus benefits

Our client is a leading Irish-owned provider of safety, workwear, uniform and specialist products and services, supporting public and private sector customers across Ireland and the UK.

With more than 80 employees across five locations, the business is now seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop its sales function from its Monaghan Head Office.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on sales leadership position with primary responsibility for the performance and development of the inside sales team, alongside management and continued development of the field sales function.

The successful candidate will introduce greater structure, accountability and commercial focus across the team – setting clear targets and KPIs, strengthening pipeline management, coaching salespeople and driving measurable improvements in revenue, margin and customer growth.

This is not an individual contributor sales role. We are looking for an experienced people manager who can demonstrate a strong track record of improving sales performance through others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the inside sales team.
  • Manage and support members of the field sales team.
  • Set clear individual and team sales targets and KPIs.
  • Introduce structured performance management, one-to-ones and sales coaching.
  • Improve pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and growth within existing accounts.
  • Identify cross-sell, upsell and account-development opportunities.
  • Monitor revenue, margin, conversion, pipeline and sales activity.
  • Address underperformance and identify development needs across the team.
  • Work closely with the CEO to translate commercial objectives into practical sales plans.
  • Support the future recruitment and expansion of the sales function.

About You

You will be an experienced sales leader with a strong track record of managing people, setting targets and delivering measurable commercial results.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in sales management or a comparable sales leadership role.
  • Experience directly managing an inside sales, telesales, account management or business development team.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate and improve salesperson performance.
  • Strong experience with sales targets, KPIs and performance management.
  • Excellent pipeline management and forecasting capability.
  • Strong CRM experience and a disciplined approach to sales data.
  • Experience across both existing account growth and new business development.
  • Strong commercial, numerical and communication skills.

Experience within industrial sales, PPE/workwear, manufacturing, engineering, construction products, technical products or trade/wholesale distribution would be particularly advantageous.

The Person

  • Hands-on and highly visible.
  • Commercially driven and results focused.
  • Structured, organised and data led.
  • A strong sales coach and people manager.
  • Comfortable setting clear expectations and challenging performance.
  • Positive, motivational and accountable.
  • Comfortable working at pace in an entrepreneurial business environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Sales Manager to take ownership of an existing sales function, strengthen its structure and performance, and play a key role in the next stage of the organisation’s commercial growth.
