Bookkeeper / Accounting Technician West Cork | €30,000–€35,000 DOE
We are delighted to be partnering with a well established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Bandon, West Cork, who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role
You will take responsibility for the day to day bookkeeping and accounts requirements of an established portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact between clients and the firm.
This is a trusted, client facing position where you will develop strong relationships with business owners, manage accounts information and documentation, and ensure work is accurately prepared for review by the Tax Accountant.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing bookkeeping and accounts for an established client portfolio
- Acting as a key liaison between clients and the Tax Accountant
- Preparation and maintenance of Profit & Loss accounts
- Accounts receivable
- VAT and PAYE administration
- Working with ROS, CRO and CORE
- Preparing accounts and supporting information for review
- Maintaining accurate client and financial records
- Managing deadlines and following up on outstanding documentation
- Providing a professional and responsive service to clients
- Attending occasional client meetings and site visits
- Working with Sage and other accounting/practice management systems
- Regular use of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office Suite
About You
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who already have strong practical bookkeeping/accounts experience and are comfortable taking ownership of their work.
You will ideally bring:
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounts experience
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or managing multiple client accounts would be highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE and Irish accounting processes
- Experience using ROS, CRO and CORE
- Strong Sage experience
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines
- A confident, professional and personable communication style
- Experience dealing directly with clients or business owners
- A relevant bookkeeping, Accounting Technician or accounting qualification is a must.

- Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–5:30pm
- 3:00pm finish every Friday
