Job Description

Legal Secretary

Join a well-established legal practice in Co. Meath and play a key role in supporting a busy team across conveyancing and probate matters. This is a fully office-based position offering stability, variety, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced solicitors on complex files.

About the Role: 

You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to solicitors, ensuring smooth progression of legal files from instruction to completion. The role focuses on accurate document production, efficient file management, and proactive diary control to keep cases on track.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and format legal documentation for conveyancing and probate matters. 
  • Undertake audio and copy typing of correspondence, reports, and legal forms. 
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documents are correctly filed, updated, and accessible. 
  • Coordinate and maintain solicitors’ diaries and calendars, scheduling meetings and key dates. 
  • Liaise with clients, banks, and third parties to obtain and provide case-related information. 
  • Monitor key deadlines and follow up on outstanding documentation and actions. 
  • Handle general office administration to support the smooth running of the practice.

Key Requirements: 

  • 1+ years’ experience in a legal secretarial or legal support role. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of conveyancing and probate processes. 
  • Strong audio and copy typing skills with high speed and accuracy. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and document accuracy. 
  • Strong organisational and file management skills. 
  • Confident communication skills with clients and colleagues. 
  • Full valid driving licence.


Desirable Skills: 

  • Experience working within a small to medium-sized legal practice. 
  • Familiarity with Irish legal procedures and terminology. 
  • Proficiency in legal case management systems and MS Office.
