Communications Officer (Events & Campaigns)

4 Month Contract | €19.90ph | Oranmore, Co. Galway | Hybrid Working

Osborne are currently seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join the Communications Team of a leading public sector organisation on a 4-month temporary contract, running from September to December 2026, with the potential for a further extension of up to two months.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and proactive communications professional to play a key role in supporting events, campaigns, public engagement and stakeholder communications within a high-profile organisation.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of communications and marketing initiatives, with a particular focus on events and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of events, conferences and public engagement activities.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Draft and edit news releases, articles, event communications, website content and promotional materials.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop visual content, including graphics, photography and video.
  • Support social media and digital communications activity.
  • Monitor media coverage and social media activity and assist with reporting on campaign and event performance.
  • Maintain communications databases, event records and content libraries.
  • Support the wider Communications Team with administrative duties and ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Event Management or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a communications, marketing, events or similar role.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of events, campaigns or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging content.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also working independently.
