Recycling Operations Manager  

Dublin 22
Up to €75,000

37 hours per week
(Hybrid after 6 months)

Our client is a leading organisation in Ireland focused on packaging recycling, waste recovery and sustainability. They work with businesses, recycling operators and other industry stakeholders to improve recycling and waste management practices. They are now looking to hire an experienced Recycling Operations Manager to manage operator relationships, audits, compliance and recycling operations across Ireland.

About the Role :
The role involves managing relationships with recycling and recovery operators, overseeing funding for packaging waste recovery, and supporting client events, awards and staff communications. The successful candidate will also help deliver presentations and contribute to achieving team and company targets.

About You:

Essential

  • Experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services or sustainability.
  • Good understanding of waste collection, recycling and recovery.
  • Experience with site audits, inspections or compliance checks.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and multiple accounts.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Irish and EU waste legislation and EPR.
  • Experience working with waste facilities, recyclers, MRFs, brokers or compliance schemes.
  • Experience with waste audits or waste characterisation studies.
  • Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Engineering or Sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Recovery Operator accounts.
  • Carry out site visits, audits and waste checks.
  • Review and verify recycling and recovery claims.
  • Build relationships with waste management and recycling companies.
  • Keep up to date with waste, recycling and regulatory developments.
  • Maintain databases, reports and industry records.
  • Support compliance audits and reporting.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with the Finance Team.
  • Schedule and Attend Member site audits when required.
  • Support client events, awards, conferences and presentations.
  • Deliver recycling talks and community training.
