Site Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our client’s growing team on a permanent, full-time basis for projects based in Co. Clare. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering professional to work on high-quality construction projects while contributing to the successful delivery of works from inception through to completion.

  • Reporting To: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and coordinate site works in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, and programme requirements.
  • Maintain accurate site records, drawings, surveys, and technical documentation.
  • Interpret and communicate construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineering details to site teams.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, subcontractors, local authorities, and the wider project team to ensure effective project coordination.
  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate site logistics, plant, materials, and resources to maximise productivity.
  • Oversee quality control procedures, BCAR compliance, and the implementation of company quality management systems.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health and safety through regular inspections, audits, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues, design queries, and site challenges in a timely manner.
  • Assist in programme planning and monitor progress to ensure key project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensure all works comply with engineering standards, building regulations, and project specifications.
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer role within the construction industry.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, BCAR requirements, and Irish building regulations.
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver construction projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Excellent technical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full clean driving licence is desirable.
