Events Manager

Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate a varied calendar of business events, such as webinars, networking sessions, workshops, seminars and member-focused gatherings.
- Identify timely and relevant topics for the business community and engage experienced speakers, facilitators and industry specialists.
- Oversee the full delivery of each event, including venue arrangements, attendee registration, audiovisual requirements, catering, communications and follow-up activity.
- Host and facilitate events across both in-person and virtual formats.
- Plan and deliver promotional campaigns through email, social media, websites and appropriate local marketing channels.
- Support income generation through sponsorship opportunities, ticket sales and the promotion of the organisation’s services.
- Manage the events and marketing budget, monitoring expenditure and ensuring resources are used effectively.
- Appoint suppliers and negotiate with venues, caterers, speakers and other service providers to achieve strong service standards and value for money.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with businesses, sponsors, community partners and key stakeholders.
- Track event attendance, enquiries, leads, income and engagement, preparing regular reports and recommending improvements.
- Raise awareness of the organisation’s enterprise support offering among entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses through events, partnerships and targeted marketing activity.
- Generate enquiries and referrals by promoting available mentoring, workspace, business support and growth-focused programmes.
Key Requirements:
- At least three years’ experience planning and delivering in-person, virtual and hybrid events from initial concept through to completion.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience managing budgets, suppliers, timelines and multiple priorities.
- Confident using CRM and marketing platforms for email campaigns, contact management, event promotion, lead tracking and performance reporting.
- Proven ability to promote events through email, social media, websites, digital campaigns and local outreach activity.
- Strong content and design skills, including creating event copy, speaker profiles, presentations, invitations and promotional materials using tools such as Canva and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using webinar platforms, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and audiovisual equipment for live and hybrid events.
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to host events and build commercial relationships.
- Proactive, adaptable and commercially minded, with an interest in supporting entrepreneurs, small businesses and growing organisations.
