General Operative
Cavan | Manufacturing | Permanent | Full-Time

Osborne Recruitment is currently recruiting for General Operatives on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing company based in Cavan.

This is a permanent, full-time position with immediate opportunities available.

Working Hours

Successful candidates will initially work a day shift during the training period:

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Following the training period, candidates will move to a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern:

Morning shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
Evening shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

This is a 39-hour working week.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the day-to-day running of production and general operational activities within a busy manufacturing environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting daily production, manufacturing and operational activities
  • Following company procedures, work instructions and quality standards
  • Handling materials and products safely and efficiently
  • Working safely with equipment, tools and materials as required
  • Following all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE
  • Carrying out manual handling duties, including some physical tasks and heavy lifting
  • Completing basic data entry and maintaining accurate production records
  • Scanning, tracking and recording products using internal systems
  • Supporting the team to meet production targets and operational deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to support smooth daily operations

About You

This role would suit someone who is hands-on, dependable and eager to learn. You will enjoy working as part of a team and be comfortable following processes in a busy production, warehouse or manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse or general operative role
  • A strong work ethic and reliable approach
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Comfort working in a hands-on role involving manual handling and physical tasks
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using systems for data entry or scanning
  • A positive, adaptable attitude and willingness to learn new processes
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility to move onto a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern following the initial training period
