National Account Manager

At Osborne we are currently recruiting for a National Account Manager to join a well-established Irish consumer goods business with a strong portfolio of recognised brands across the household and FMCG sectors.

As part of its continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced National Account Manager to take ownership of several key retail and wholesale customer accounts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused account manager to work with leading household brands, develop strategic customer relationships and directly influence sales, profitability and market growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with key retail and wholesale customers, including head-office buyers and commercial teams.
  • Take ownership of sales, margin and profit performance across the assigned customer portfolio.
  • Develop and execute annual customer plans and Joint Business Plans.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, promotions, trade investment and customer agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new commercial opportunities.
  • Manage promotional planning, implementation and post-promotion analysis.
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to maintain product listings and secure new product listings.
  • Lead annual range reviews and provide competitor, shopper and market insights.
  • Manage sales and stock forecasting across the household product portfolio.
  • Ensure product availability is aligned with customer demand, promotions and seasonal activity.
  • Monitor customer performance and use commercial data to recommend clear actions.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, sales and merchandising teams.
  • Resolve customer account and finance queries efficiently while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Communicate promotional activity, stock requirements and account priorities to field sales and merchandising teams.
  • Stay informed on changing shopper, customer and channel trends.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience within FMCG, consumer goods or a related commercial environment.
  • Experience managing key or national customer accounts.
  • Strong relationships with retail or wholesale head-office buyers would be highly advantageous.
  • A proven ability to manage sales, margin, pricing, promotions and account profitability.
  • Experience in commercial negotiation and customer planning.
  • Knowledge of sales forecasting, stock management and promotional planning.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into commercial actions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills.
  • A proactive, organised and commercially driven approach.
  • The resilience and flexibility to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
