HR Generalist

Osborne Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Irish organisation in the search for an experienced HR Generalist.

The HR Generalist will support the full employee lifecycle with a primary focus on employee relations and talent acquisition/recruitment. This role is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture through effective employee engagement and employee relations practices, while managing end-to-end recruitment processes.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, ensuring HR policies and practices are applied consistently and in compliance with Irish employment law and relevant EU employment legislation.

Location: Dublin/ Meath – Travel will be required across Ireland in this role.

Permanent full-time onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Support the Group HR Director and wider HR Team as a first point of contact for HR-related queries
  • Manage and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management processes
  • Conduct and assist in workplace investigations, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes
  • Provide guidance to managers on best practice, policy application, and compliance with Irish employment law and relevant EU directives (including equality, working time, and data protection legislation)
  • Support conflict resolution and mediation between employees and managers where required
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and clear communication

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist in managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for key and critical roles
  • Coordinate interviews and ensure a consistent and positive candidate experience
  • Utilise multiple sourcing channels (job boards, social media, referrals, and recruitment agencies) to attract high-quality candidates
  • Analyse recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, quality of hire) and support continuous improvement initiatives

HR Operations & Generalist Duties

Support the Group HR Function in the following:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures in line with Irish employment legislation and applicable EU directives
  • Support onboarding and induction programmes to ensure smooth employee integration
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are compliant with GDPR requirements
  • Contribute to employee engagement surveys and action planning
  • Support performance management processes, including reviews and development plans
  • Ensure compliance with Irish employment legislation and relevant EU frameworks, including (but not limited to) GDPR, Working Time Directive, Equality Directives, and Whistleblowing requirements
  • Undertake any other duties as required

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR role (3–5 years minimum)
  • Strong experience in employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes
  • Solid understanding of Irish employment law and EU employment legislation
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment processes and best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience of European employment law would be advantageous

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) preferred
