Payroll Manager – 9 months FTC
Location: Dundalk
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

We are partnering with our client, a leading Top 20 accountancy and taxation practice with a strong presence in the Northeast, to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee a busy payroll bureau team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong technical expertise and leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Salary: €50,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accurate processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls

  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, pensions, and Revenue requirements

  • Manage payroll deadlines, controls, and quality standards across the bureau

  • Review complex payroll calculations and statutory payments

  • Lead payroll-related reporting and process improvement

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and support payroll team members

  • Allocate workloads and ensure service delivery standards are achieved

  • Provide technical guidance and training on payroll legislation and best practices

  • Support the ongoing development of payroll processes and team capability

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage key client relationships and act as the main escalation point for payroll queries

  • Deliver a high-quality payroll service while ensuring compliance and accuracy

  • Support business development activities and client onboarding where required

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years' payroll experience, ideally within a payroll bureau environment

  • IPASS qualified (or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements

  • Previous people management or team leadership experience

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
