We are working with an exciting new client in Dublin 15 that is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager for their growing practice

The client is seeking a capable, well organised, driven candidate with the following attributes to bring to the organisation/role
ACA, ACCA or CPA qualification.

  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably in practice.
  • Strong experience across both audit and accounts preparation.
  • Experience managing client assignments from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of Irish GAAP, IFRS where relevant, company law and tax compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and meet deadlines.
  • Experience supervising or training junior staff.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality work in a practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Audit and Assurance

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, including:
  • Planning, executing and delivering audit assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Managing audit files and bringing assignments to principal review stage.
  • Identifying audit risks and ensuring appropriate audit responses are documented.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing practical guidance.
  • Liaising with clients, management teams and external advisers during audit assignments.
  • Ensuring compliance with auditing standards, ethical requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements.
  • Managing client expectations and resolving issues arising during the audit process.
  • Supporting improvements in audit quality, file documentation and internal procedures.

Accounts, Tax and Advisory

  • In addition to audit work, the role will involve managing a portfolio of non-audit clients, including:
  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax, income tax and other relevant tax returns.
  • Advising clients on accounting, tax and general business matters.
  • Assisting clients with management accounts, budgeting, cashflow and business planning where required.
  • Supporting clients with company secretarial and compliance matters.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional value-added services to clients.

Practice Management and Staff Development

  • This is a leadership role within the practice and will include responsibility for:
  • Supervising, mentoring and training junior staff.
  • Allocating work across the team and monitoring progress against deadlines.
  • Reviewing staff work and giving constructive feedback.
  • Helping to develop internal systems, workflows and quality control procedures.
  • Supporting the principal in managing practice capacity, deadlines and client service standards.
  • Promoting a professional, collaborative and accountable team culture.

Business Development and Growth

  • As the practice continues to grow, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to business development by:
  • Building strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Identifying additional service opportunities within the current client base.
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients.
  • Supporting proposals, fee quotes and client meetings.
  • Helping to raise the profile of the practice through excellent client service and referrals.
  • Contributing ideas on how the practice can grow sustainably and profitably.

Requirements for Role:

  • Strong technical knowledge of audit, accounting and tax matters.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the needs of SME clients.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience managing, reviewing and developing junior staff.
  • A practical, hands-on approach suited to an SME practice environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Confidence dealing directly with business owners, directors and senior client contacts.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider team.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in helping the practice grow.
  • Systems Experience
  • Experience with some or all of the following would be beneficial:
  • Xero
  • Sage
  • BrightPay
  • Bright Accounts Production
  • OmniPro
  • MyWorkpapers or similar audit working paper software
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • ROS and CRO filing systems
