Our Manufacturing client based in Wicklow is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their growing team on a full-time permanent basis. You will to lead the accounting and financial reporting function. Reporting to the Group CFO, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and supporting the continued growth of a complex international manufacturing business. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and a proven track record of operating in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of Group accounting operations, including month-end close, year-end reporting, and external audits, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reporting, taking ownership of the Group consolidation process and ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit activities across multiple entities, managing deliverables, and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, while supporting and coordinating the Group’s SOX compliance programme and driving continuous improvements in control effectiveness.
Partner closely with the Group CFO to implement and standardise accounting policies and best practices across the organisation.
Manage all external reporting obligations, including Form 20-F filings, statutory accounts, and other regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
Oversee the effectiveness of Group financial systems and reporting tools, identifying opportunities for process automation, optimisation, and system enhancements.
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Take ownership of Group inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, provisioning, reconciliations, and control processes across all entities.
Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure accurate product costing, inventory reporting, and the implementation of standardised inventory accounting practices throughout the Group.
Manage relationships with outsourced finance and corporate service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, accountability, and consistency across all jurisdictions.
Work closely with regional finance leaders and local finance teams to align accounting practices, reporting standards, financial controls, and key accounting judgments across the Group.
Key Requirements
ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in Group Finance, Corporate Accounting, or Financial Reporting, ideally within a complex multi-entity and international business environment.
Manufacturing industry experience is essential, with strong knowledge of inventory accounting, costing methodologies, and operational finance.
Previous experience within a Big Four accounting firm is highly desirable.
Strong technical accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience managing financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, and accounting software.
Proven ability to build strong working relationships across finance, operations, manufacturing, and executive leadership teams.
Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and motivating finance professionals within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
