Social Care Team Leader/Person in Charge
Permanent, Full-Time positions available
Locations: Waterford, Leitrim, Sligo, Tralee
Here at Osborne, we are currently looking for Person in Charge on behalf of our client on various locations around Ireland for a permanent, full-time position. The Person in Charge will provide the highest possible standards of support to those who uses our client's services and will ensure the service is in line with appropriate Government and Health Service Executive (HSE) Policy. Within that context the Manager will be expected to work autonomously and with initiative. The ideal candidate would preferably have experience working with autism. The Manager will act as the Person in Charge for existing services ensuring compliance with the Department of Health Regulations and HIQA Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
Take the lead on shift when on duty in the service.
Participate in the provision of direct care to individuals, following established care plans, protocols, and procedures.
Assist in assessing the needs of individuals under care and developing individualised care plans.
Ensure the implementation of appropriate care interventions and monitor the progress and outcomes of care.
Training & Development
Assist in training and orienting new care team members, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively.
Assist in organising and facilitating training programs and workshops for the team to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Compliance & Documentation
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of care plans, assessments, and other relevant records
Monitor and ensure the completion of required documentation by team members in a timely manner
Quality Assurance
Assist in implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care services provided.
Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Communication & Collaboration
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Conditions of work
This post requires a flexible approach to working hours, primarily to ensure the safety and well-being of young people and staff.
The post holder is required to lead and participate in the On-Call support system.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care
Level 6 Management qualification
Level 7+ qualification in Social Care or a related field (CORU eligible) (e.g., Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community)
A proven track record of managing a residential service which meets quality, regulatory/legislative requirements.
Experience in social care, ideally with individuals with intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury, and/or autism
Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Full Irish driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
