Here at Osborne, we are hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a leading public sector client, based in Oranmore, Galway.
 
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role and will be reporting to the Finance Manager.
 

 
***This role is a 12-month fixed term contract***
 
 
Package:

  • Salary: €45,000+ DOE
  • Monday to Friday, FULLY ONSITE

 
 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the accounts payable team ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all account payable functions
  • Take full responsibility for end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice processing, approvals workflows, payment runs and approvals and associated reconciliations
  • Review and approval of weekly travel & subsistence claims in line with public sector and internal policy
  • Oversee supplier management including supplier setup, bank changes and supplier’s ledger setup and approvals within our finance system
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained, strong focus on compliance, governance and audit readiness
  • Provide oversight and approval of all revenue returns and reconciliation of associated control accounts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and approval
  • Assist in providing backup for the of annual financial statements
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance requirements including payroll processing as required from time to time

 
 
Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accounts payable team in a very busy accounts payable environment, preferably supervising and managing the team/function
  • Strong knowledge of public sector and revenue rules as applicable to invoices, prompt payment, Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT), Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) and Travel and subsistence regulations
  • Strong IT skills including the use of MS Office, MS Teams and MS SharePoint
  • Proven experience using ERP systems in a finance environment
  • Relevant third level qualification or other qualification with relevant experience in Finance or Accounting
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Effective communication skills at multiple levels
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and delivery of outputs in a busy environment
  • Ideally bring some public sector experience
  • Ideally to have familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central or similar ERP system
  • Ideally brings some experience in payroll processing or supervision of same
