Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Waterford

We are seeking a driven and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team. This role will take ownership of recruitment across all functions and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s continued growth. The successful candidate will bring strong stakeholder management skills, in-depth healthcare recruitment knowledge, and a proven ability to align high-quality talent with organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for clinical roles (including Consultant Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists, and Nurses), as well as administrative and leadership positions.

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce requirements and develop effective sourcing and selection strategies.

  • Manage job postings, advertising campaigns, and proactive sourcing activities across multiple channels to ensure a strong and diverse candidate pipeline.

Talent Strategy & Market Insight

  • Conduct talent mapping, market research, and competitor analysis to identify talent pools, industry trends, and salary benchmarks.

  • Contribute to workforce planning initiatives aligned with organisational growth and clinical expansion.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, labour market trends, and recruitment best practices.

Candidate Experience & Employer Branding

  • Deliver a positive and engaging candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

  • Act as a professional ambassador for the IoES employer brand in all candidate and external interactions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and professional bodies in Ireland and internationally to develop long-term talent pipelines.

International Recruitment & Compliance

  • Design and execute international recruitment strategies, including Critical Skills Visa applications and IMC, NMBI, and CORU registration processes.

  • Ensure full compliance with IMC, NMBI, CORU, and GDPR requirements.

  • Support international hires with relocation, onboarding, and cultural integration.

Relationship Management

  • Develop strong working relationships with hiring managers, department leaders, and external recruitment partners.

  • Coordinate interviews, provide timely communication, and maintain consistent feedback throughout the recruitment process.

  • Organise and attend site visits and informal networking events to enhance candidate engagement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyse recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill and quality of hire to assess performance.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve recruitment processes.

  • Stay up to date with emerging recruitment trends, digital sourcing tools, and workforce planning practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a healthcare-related discipline (desirable).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Talent Acquisition.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare roles and industry trends.

  • Proven expertise in social media and digital recruitment, particularly LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple vacancies in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on quality hiring and candidate experience.

  • Experience using Smartsheets is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Flexible approach, with availability to accommodate early, late, or weekend interviews across different time zones as required.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Ability to build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.

  • Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
