Process Technician

Are you an experienced professional with a strong background in Polymer Processing? We are hiring for a Process Technician on behalf of one of our well-known clients in the Manufacturing Industry. As a process technician, you will play a key role in optimising production processes, driving continuous improvement, and achieving operational excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare
Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Technical Supervisors, the Process Technician will:
  • Execute equipment setups and tool changeovers as part of production runs.
  • Monitor process start-ups and oversee process performance during runs to meet production targets.
  • Take ownership of process escalations, troubleshooting and resolving issues using a systematic root-cause approach.
  • Support the development and improvement of existing processes through advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support new project implementation.
  • Assist in creating documentation, training materials, and work instructions where applicable.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping, ensuring machines and equipment are kept in safe and clean conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, GMP requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Polymer Processing is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role within a plastics production environment.
  • A strong knowledge of engineering, mechanics, and/or electronics, with the ability to apply a scientific and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) is an advantage.
  • Excellent technical capabilities, communication skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while thriving as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours, as required.
