Machinery Maintenance and Repair Technician 

We are looking for an experienced Machinery Maintenance and Repair Technician to join our team. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment to high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and service machinery, ensuring it meets required standards.
  • Identify and repair faults using diagnostic reports.
  • Reassemble and test machinery components to ensure safe operation.
  • Carry out pre-use checks on new equipment.
  • Update service records and maintain stock levels.
  • Use specialist tools, such as hydraulic presses, safely and effectively.
  • Perform basic welding and operate lifting equipment following regulations.
  • Keep the workshop clean and organized while following safety procedures.
  • Assist in training apprentices and trainees.
  • Attend training courses provided by manufacturers, locally and abroad.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately.

Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship in Construction Plant Fitting or similar experience (e.g., farming machinery).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing plant or machinery.
  • Skilled in using large workshop equipment and tools.
  • Relevant manufacturer training (e.g., JLG, Genie, Manitou) is an advantage.
  • Safe Pass and a full, clean driving license.
  • Forklift Truck qualification is desirable.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and basic computer skills.
  • Physically capable of tasks like lifting, bending, and stretching.
  • Respectful, safety-conscious, and proactive in maintaining standards.
  • Quick and effective fault repairs.
  • Minimal equipment breakdowns.
  • Timely completion of tasks.
  • Health and Safety (e.g., manual handling, fire awareness, PPE use).
  • Workshop safety and basic welding.
  • Specialist regulations (e.g., GA1, LPG).
  • Use of systems like MS Office and Syrinx.
