Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional seeking a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a busy finance team? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our client on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The Accounts Assistant will provide accurate, timely financial information to the CFO and management, ensuring the smooth operation of critical financial processes.

Salary: €45,000 pro rata
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:
Maintain the General Ledger module within the Progress Banking Application.
Prepare and update monthly reconciliation templates.
Complete reconciliations for all bank accounts, payroll accounts, and control balances.
Update and reconcile the Register of Investments to bank statements and the General Ledger.
Perform monthly interest and bond amortization calculations.
Process and review journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Prepare draft management accounts and supporting schedules.
Prepare monthly Liquidity Reports, weekly ISBAR reports, and quarterly Prudential returns for review.
Assist the CFO with budget preparation, forecasting, and year-end audit files.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, including AML policy.
Process and pay purchase invoices, preparing analysis of budget variances.
Monitor and ensure adequate funding of clearing accounts.
Maintain appropriate call account levels and prepare short-term cash forecasts.
Assist in developing the reporting functions of core systems.
Carry out internal control tests, including bank reconciliations and cash float accuracy checks.
Prepare daily liquidity reports and manage petty cash.
Provide additional support to the CFO as needed.
The Accounts Assistant will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or a recognized accountancy qualification.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with financial systems, particularly Progress Banking Application or similar.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
