Case Study - Site Director

Our client, a multinational pharmaceutical company, partnered exclusively with Osborne Executive Search in their recruitment of a new Site Director for their EU Headquarters in Ireland.

We had previously recruited a Regulatory Affairs specialist for the company and established an excellent working relationship with the client.

This person would be functional head of all operations for successful day-to-day activities at the facility. The ideal candidate needed to be an ambitious, seasoned senior Technical Operations professional with extensive experience at the appropriate level in the pharmaceutical industry.

Our Process

From our previous recruitment process with the company, we had established a trusting and open relationship with the client, and a keen understanding of their culture and values. We held an initial meeting to discuss the role in depth, including a comprehensive overview of the role from the outgoing Site Director.

We created a market map of relevant companies and candidates, devised a focused national and international recruitment strategy, created a targeted broad marketing campaign with the assistance of our dedicated marketing department. In addition, we utilised our extensive candidate database and network, launched LinkedIn search projects in tandem with an advertising campaign across all major job boards. As part of our international search, we interviewed several candidates based abroad and keen to relocate to Ireland. We met with the client on a fortnightly basis, including the corporate team in the States, to provide detailed updates on our search

Process Continued

Upon screening many experienced and interesting candidates, we presented a longlist of seven candidates to the client. All had been interviewed in depth and each CV was accompanied by a detailed candidate profile highlighting their experience and strengths for the position. Five candidates were selected for interview for the role, with the first stage being a virtual interview with the Irish team. Three candidates were then progressed to the second stage of a virtual meeting with the American team. Both teams were very impressed with the calibre of candidates, and all three were strong contenders for the position. One frontrunner did emerge and met several members of the Site Leadership Team face to face. These meetings were very successful and an offer was made and accepted.

The Result

An extremely suitable candidate was offered and accepted this key position for the business, and both parties were very happy with the outcome.

The recruitment process took place over the course of 12 weeks from the initial client meeting to the offer being accepted. The candidate had a 3 month notice period.
