Payroll Officer with HR Experience

Permanent | Dublin 4 | Hybrid

Osborne is recruiting for a Payroll Officer with HR experience on behalf of an established and highly regarded organisation based in Dublin 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused payroll professional who enjoys working in a people-focused environment and would like to combine payroll responsibilities with broader HR support duties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting payroll processing, HR administration, employee records, recruitment coordination and wider people initiatives across the business.

This role offers a hybrid working model, with office presence required as part of the role.

For the right candidate, a 4-day working week may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Payroll Manager with end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely completion.
  • Assist with payroll queries from employees and managers in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, payroll data and HR system information.
  • Support payroll reporting, data checks and updates across HR and payroll systems.
  • Ensure employee changes, starters, leavers, contract updates and amendments are processed correctly.
  • Support recruitment activity across the business, including advertising roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews and preparing employment documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding, induction and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Support training, skills development and people development initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and wider group colleagues on HR systems, processes and programmes.
  • Support graduate, reward, benefits and employee engagement programmes.
  • Develop and update job specifications, job descriptions and HR documentation.
  • Ensure all HR and payroll information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

About You

  • Previous experience in a payroll-focused role, ideally with exposure to HR administration or HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, employee data and payroll-related compliance.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems or global HR management systems; Oracle experience would be an advantage.
  • A qualification in payroll, HR, business or a related field would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident working with sensitive and confidential employee information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proactive, flexible and able to work on own initiative.
  • Comfortable working across teams and departments.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and an interest in working as part of a collaborative HR team.
