National Communications Manager

Our client is looking for a skilled National Communications Manager to lead strategic communications for a large private automotive company.  Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, you will shape brand voice, oversee major communication initiatives, and strengthen internal and external messaging across the organization.

Supporting national campaigns, events, corporate programs, and client-facing communications, you will ensure a consistent and polished public presence. The role works closely with internal teams, agencies, and regional partners to deliver aligned, high-impact communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute national communication strategies aligned with brand and corporate priorities.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across digital, social, print, and internal channels.
  • Write and edit speeches, scripts, press releases, and executive communications.
  • Support national campaigns, launches, media relations, and CSR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, agencies, and community partners.
  • Maintain brand consistency and provide communications guidance across regions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years in communications, marketing, or PR.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with speeches, executive messaging, and multi-channel content.
  • Strong project management and collaboration abilities.
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • French bilingualism is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.

The Recruitment Executive plays a support role within the Osborne team, ensuring seamless coordination across all stages of the recruitment process.
This role involves candidate and client interaction, administrative and marketing support, compliance, and assisting consultants with daily recruitment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate Management
•    Screen resumes and assist in shortlisting candidates for active roles.
•    Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews, both internally and with clients.
•    Provide candidates with job briefings, interview preparation, and regular updates throughout the recruitment process.
•    Conduct reference checks.
•    Responsible and accountable for driving compliance.

Client Support
•    Liaise with clients regarding job requirements, interview scheduling, and candidate feedback.
•    Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure satisfaction with placements and support ongoing needs.
•    Conduct check-ins with clients and candidates to ensure a smooth onboarding and placement experience.

Recruitment Administration
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the applicant tracking system (ATS) and CRM.
•    Prepare and maintain compliance documentation in line with agency standards and legal requirements.
•    Assist with the creation and posting of job advertisements across various platforms.
•    Support with reporting on recruitment activity, placements, and candidate pipelines.

Marketing Support 
•    Assist with monitoring and posting relevant content across social media platforms.
•    Conduct market research to identify trends and growth opportunities.
•    Assist and execute innovative marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and revenue.
•    Create reports, presentations, and visual data summaries for internal teams.
•    Analyze data to assess market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Business Support Duties
•    Proof-read job advertisements and post online.
•    Edit any job adverts as needed to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
•    Accurately adding client contact information to the ATS.

Key Skills and Competencies:
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
•    High attention to detail, especially in compliance and documentation.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
•    Comfortable using recruitment software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications and Experience:

•    Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a recruitment, marketing support or coordination role (agency experience preferred).
•    Experience with recruitment systems, applicant tracking systems, or CRM software.

  • Familiarity with Workday or Salesforce is an advantage but not essential.
  • Familiarity with HR laws and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field preferred.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Process Engineering & Optimization

  • Analyze and optimize process flow for glass cutting, coating, curing, assembly, and inspection.
  • Improve yield, reduce cycle time, and maintain dimensional accuracy within tight tolerances.

Work Measurement & Standardization

  • Conduct time and motion studies and develop detailed SOPs for glass processing, handling, and assembly operations.

Equipment & Automation Integration

  • Work with equipment suppliers and maintenance teams to install, qualify, and optimize automation, handling systems, curing ovens, and coating systems.

Quality & Optical Performance Improvement

  • Partner with quality engineers to enhance surface finish, reduce distortion and haze, and improve coating adhesion through continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.

Layout & Facility Optimization

  • Design and refine plant layouts for coating lines, assembly stations, inspection cells, and handling flows to improve efficiency and reduce material risk.

Material Flow & Inventory Control

  • Optimize movement of substrates, coatings, and assemblies using JIT, Kanban, and lean material-flow systems.

Cost Reduction & Lean Implementation

  • Lead lean initiatives targeting scrap reduction, rework elimination, and improved equipment uptime, especially within controlled-environment areas.

Data-Driven Performance Analysis

  • Analyze process data including yield, cycle time, OEE, SPC metrics, and throughput to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Safety, Ergonomics & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards related to glass, coatings, chemicals, and precision assembly.
  • Improve ergonomics for operators working in inspection and assembly areas

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Support R&D and design teams in industrializing new mirror and glass technologies and translating prototypes into stable, repeatable production processes.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering with strong exposure to industrial engineering principles.
  • Experience working across multiple engineering areas: industrial, process, manufacturing, and some product engineering.
  • Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing methods, especially in glass, coatings, display, or precision component environments.
  • Hands-on experience with lean principles, time studies, standard work, process mapping, and layout optimization.
  • Experience with statistical tools such as Minitab, Power BI, Excel for SPC, yield tracking, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with MES/ERP systems for production monitoring and traceability.
  • Working knowledge of coating technologies, vacuum deposition systems, curing operations, or optical component manufacturing is an asset.
  • Ability to drive cost savings, reduce scrap, improve cycle time, and enhance equipment performance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including design, quality, operations, and automation.
  • A hands-on, practical approach-comfortable on the production floor solving real-time issues while also contributing to higher-level engineering planning.
