Location: Dublin 12
Contract: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: €65,000 – €75,000
Manage a Team: 6 – 8 Accounts Receivable team members
On Site 5 days a week – Monday to Friday

Step into a key finance leadership role where you’ll own the end-to-end Accounts Receivable function for a busy, growth-focused organisation in Dublin 12. You’ll lead a small but high-impact team, optimise cash flow, and shape robust credit and collections processes that support the company’s commercial ambitions. This is a hands-on management role with real influence over systems, policies, and stakeholder relationships.

About the Role:
As Accounts Receivable Manager, you will oversee all AR activities, ensuring timely collections, accurate customer account reconciliation, and strong internal controls. You will lead and develop the AR team, drive continuous process improvement, and provide clear reporting and insight on aged debt and cash performance to senior stakeholders. Your work will directly impact working capital, risk management, and the quality of financial information across the business.

If this role is of interest to you apply today to valerie.briody@osborne.ie

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function, overseeing billing, collections, cash application, and customer account maintenance.
  • Manage credit control activities, including setting credit limits, monitoring overdue balances, and driving effective collection strategies.
  • Oversee accurate customer account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely allocation of payments within ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle).
  • Analyse aged debt, produce regular reporting and commentary, and present insights and action plans to finance leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls within the AR process to mitigate credit and collection risks.
  • Lead, coach, and develop AR team members, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance, and supporting skills development.
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales, and customer service teams to resolve account issues and negotiate payment arrangements where required.
  • Identify and deliver process improvements across AR workflows, setting and monitoring KPIs to drive efficiency and service quality.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable leadership or senior credit control role, ideally within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong background in credit control and collections management, with a track record of improving cash flow and reducing aged debt.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), including cash application and payment allocation processes.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, risk management, and compliance within the AR function.
  • Experience managing and developing a small finance or AR team, with clear evidence of leadership and people management skills.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and produce concise, actionable AR and aged debt reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations and secure positive outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience implementing or optimising AR modules within ERP systems, including process automation and workflow enhancements.
  • Background in working capital optimisation projects or cash flow forecasting related to receivables.
  • Exposure to KPI design and dashboard reporting for AR performance and collections effectiveness.
  • Experience in a shared service or multi-entity environment.
  • Familiarity with credit insurance, factoring, or other trade finance arrangements.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting or finance qualification (e.g. Accounting Technician, part-qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or equivalent experience in AR management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred but not essential with strong relevant experience.
  • Formal training or certification in credit management or credit control is an advantage.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in finance, leadership, or process improvement is desirable.
