Accounts Assistant – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Osborne is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant  to join an established and international organisation based in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to join a collaborative finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities across an international business.

Location: Waterford
Role Type: Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days in the office per week
Hours: Full-time or part-time hours available
Salary: DOE

The successful candidate will support the finance function across day-to-day accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance and year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end reporting.
  • Complete general ledger reconciliations and support the month-end close process.
  • Prepare and post journals to the accounting system.
  • Prepare sales reconciliations across multiple entities and process relevant journals.
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation, audit requirements and associated finance duties.
  • Support VAT returns and tax compliance activities.
  • Work closely with the wider finance team to meet departmental deadlines and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are processed correctly.
  • Assist with general finance and administrative duties as required.
  • Contribute to improving processes and procedures within the finance function.

Requirements:

  • Accounting Technician qualification, third-level finance/accounting qualification, or relevant accounting experience.
  • Previous experience across general accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR or similar finance duties.
  • Experience working with an accounting package; NetSuite experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting processes and financial controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
