Cost Accountant
We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically driven Cost Accountant to join our client, based in Cavan. You will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving operational visibility and enhancing decision-making across the organisation.
Location: Onsite – 5 days per week
Salary: €47,000 – €50,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPI reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform detailed cost and material analysis, identifying cost drivers, allocation methods and optimisation opportunities.
Monitor and report on manufacturing costs, margins and variances, providing clear insight to operational and commercial stakeholders.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure integrity of transactional data to support strong financial governance and decision-making.
Participate in business transformation and financial control projects that enhance profitability, efficiency and reporting quality.
Partner with cross-functional teams across operations, supply chain and engineering within a multicultural environment.
Perform reconciliations across sales, margin and balance sheet accounts to ensure robust financial reporting.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Contribute to forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning using both quantitative data and business insight.
Support the development and improvement of finance processes, systems and reporting tools.
Experience & Qualifications
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience preferred.
Manufacturing experience advantageous; strong curiosity and willingness to learn the sector essential.
ERP systems experience required (SAP highly desirable).
Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data.
