Programme Development Officer (Fixed-Term Contract) 

Location: needs to be located in North West of Ireland (Donegal, Silgo, Roscommon).

Our client are an independent charity focused on protecting Ireland’s environment and heritage. We work to preserve natural and built heritage, and we are looking for a Programme Development Officer to help us achieve our mission. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and help deliver important programmes in schools across Ireland. As the Programme Development Officer, you will manage the delivery of our projects, working with schools, local authorities, and other partners to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Required: Clean driving licence and own vehicle, as the role will involve travel to various locations

Salary & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the programme delivery to schools in different counties and regions
  • Communicate with schools to keep them informed and supported throughout the programme
  • Work with local authorities to help deliver the project on the ground
  • Manage surveys for the schools to gather feedback on the programme
  • Conduct audits at school locations and along walking/cycling routes
  • Develop plans to support infrastructure improvements near schools
  • Lead workshops with schools and local authorities to promote the programme
  • Keep in touch with stakeholders to gather support for the programme
  • Monitor and report on infrastructure progress with local authorities
  • Work with regional partners and Green-Schools Travel Officers to update on progress
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for senior management
  • Take on any other tasks as needed

Skills:

  • Passionate about protecting Ireland’s environment and heritage
  • Experience working with schools, local authorities, or in programme management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different people
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working remotely and travelling for meetings and events
  • Required: Clean driving licence and own vehicle, as the role will involve travel to various locations
