Logistics Operations Manager   

Our client are a leading business within the industry and we are assisting them in their search for an experienced Logistics Operations Manager who will be responsible for the end to end management of the full transport department. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and be confident in the ability to manage a large staff base and the full operations for the transport team and division.
This permanent full time role will be located in Dublin West and you will report directly to the Group Head of Transport.

Salary & Benefits:

  • €65,000
  • Working days is 5 over 7
  • Working hours are between 6am and 6pm
  • Car Park
  • 20 days Annual Leave
  • Canteen

Responsibilities:

  • Performance Management of driver and helper colleagues
  • Managing staff absence level and implementing correct procedures
  • Induction and Training for new colleagues
  • Driver and Helper colleague engagement
  • Accident Reporting and Investigations
  • Recruitment of driver and helper colleagues
  • Resource level Management: Drivers, Helpers, Vehicle Requirement
  • Mandatory ongoing training of all colleagues
  • Health and Safety requirements and initiatives
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Management
  • Key Performance and Metric recording and recommendations
  • Departmental Initiatives and Projects
  • Fiscal Budget Management and Preparation
  • Work closely with the Group Head of Transport, to ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times and ensuring customer retention levels are maintained and improved.
  • Responsible for Key Performance Indicator recordings, review and improvement, and working with all functions to ensure continuous improvement across all areas.
  • Support the Customer Services team to ensure queries and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently and within agreed service level timelines.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for all new customers by working closely with the Sales and Customer Service Teams, ensuring any site visits are completed within agreed service level timelines, and working with the Transport Planner to support efficient routing and sequencing

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a logistics operations role previously for minimum of 4 years
  • Strong knowledge of CRM Management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent local geographical knowledge
  • Highly organised with robust planning ability
  • Motivated and reliable
  • Ability to multi-task while performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt in a changing environment
