Sustainability Graduate – Kickstart Your Career in Sustainability!

Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a real impact in the manufacturing industry? We are hiring for a Sustainability Graduate on behalf of one of our well-known clients in Kildare. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental sustainability, ESG initiatives, and corporate social responsibility while working with an experienced team. No prior experience is required—just a strong passion for sustainability and a desire to learn!

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare (Fully on-site)
Salary: €30,000 – €35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Holidays: 20 days per annum
Reports to: Sustainability Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track, analyse, and report sustainability metrics, including waste, water, energy consumption, and carbon footprint.
  • Assist in collecting data for EcoVadis and other sustainability audits, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for reducing waste, water, and energy usage, as well as material reuse and repurposing.
  • Support employee engagement in sustainability initiatives through awareness campaigns and training programs.
  • Help develop and maintain sustainability policies, ensuring they align with company goals and industry regulations.
  • Stay updated on emerging sustainability regulations and best practices to help integrate them into business operations.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the ESG programme, liaising with stakeholders, including the community, charities, and local government.
  • Introduce biodiversity and environmental initiatives at site and community levels to enhance the company’s positive impact.
  • Represent the company as a sustainability champion, attending customer meetings and internal presentations as required.
  • Support the marketing team by providing key sustainability data for corporate materials and digital marketing.
  • Collaborate with customers to enhance their sustainability efforts and contribute to the company’s sustainable offerings.
  • Drive internal sustainability engagement by promoting sustainable behaviours and actions across the business.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • A third-level qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related science discipline is required.
  • A strong passion for sustainability, particularly within the food industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different departments to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with a willingness to embrace new challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and data analysis.
  • Strategic thinking skills to analyse sustainability topics and contribute to business improvements.
