Stock Controller

We are delighted to be working with our client a furniture who are seeking a Stock Controller to join their team on a permanent basis in Cork. This position is responsible and accountable for all stock and its movements within the company both in the warehouse and branches. The person will be responsible for implementing best practice stock control procedures and will ensure correct stock levels and efficiency exist to provide excellence in customer service.

For you:

  • €38,000 – €40,000
  • Monday – Friday
  • On – site parking

Duties:

  • Promote a sense of ownership and responsibility for stock within the staff at the warehouse at the branches.
  • Manage, organise, locate and track all stock within the branches and the warehouse.
  • Perform daily stock cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels to provide working capital and fulfilling of customer orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve logistic issues.
  • Control all collections back into warehouse.
  • Ensure maximum returns to suppliers.
  • Direct and delegate some stock control responsibilities to the storemen in the branches.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure correct management of stock.
  • Ensure follow through on all corrective actions and implement new initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a stock controller/supply chain role.
  • Willing to take ownership of role.
  • Good communicator. Fluent spoken and written English required
  • Highly motivated and confident.
  • Extremely organised but flexible in approach.
  • Be a problem solver.
  • Ability to follow through and complete corrective actions.
  • Must hold a full clean drivers licence as some travel is required.
