Our client, based in Dublin West, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team immediately. This role is split between payroll processing and supporting the general finance team as needed.
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing payroll for 100–300 employees across two fortnightly payrolls, ensuring accuracy before submitting it to a third-party payroll provider. A keen eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role is critical to the company’s operations and sits within a well-established finance department of 15–20 team members. With over 20 years in business, this growing company offers a stable and dynamic work environment.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating payroll processes between the business and the external provider, ensuring timely and accurate payroll completion. You will also support the wider finance team with reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fortnightly and monthly payroll process for over 200 employees, in partnership with an external payroll provider.
  • Accurately update all payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and overtime.
  • Address payroll queries, providing clear explanations and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee the correct processing of payroll deductions, including pensions and benefits.
  • Assist with year-end reporting, ensuring employees receive accurate payslips and annual statements.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of payroll data, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Support the broader finance team with various tasks such as reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll management.
  • IPASS certification is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Sage Payroll is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
