PQ Accountant/Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in their career. This role would also suit a part-qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) who wants to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

  • Location: Macroom
  • Salary: DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of Management Accounts
  • Present weekly KPI reports to the Senior Accounts Manager
  • Identify and resolve financial control issues, suggesting improvements where needed
  • Evaluate and implement effective internal controls
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function
  • Manage working capital and cash flow
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Provide financial control services to clients

Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced Accounts Assistant (3 plus years required)
  • Part-qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-experienced in a similar role
  • Proficient in accounts preparation and financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to train and supervise junior staff
  • Competent in IT and accounting software
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Retail sector experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Immediate availability (highly desirable)

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Technician (ATI) qualification
  • Currently studying for a professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
