Production Manager

Are you an experienced Production Manager with a passion for driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment? We’re seeking a Production Manager on behalf of one of our well-known clients here in Naas. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to oversee the production and maintenance activities at their facility, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and quality at all times.

  • Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Shift Options: 14:00 – 22:30 | 16:00 – 24:30 | 22:00 – 06:30 (One fixed shift)- you choose!
  • Salary: €55,000- €60,000 DOE

Job Purpose:

  • As the Production Manager, you will plan, lead, direct, and monitor all production activities to maximise the use of the organisation’s resources. Your goal is to ensure the timely delivery of finished goods, meeting customer demand, and adhering to established production specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of the production facility, ensuring maximum efficiency and effective labour utilisation.
  • Generate and manage all production and management data (e.g., downtime, waste, process sheets, non-conformances) and take appropriate action.
  • Lead the production team, ensuring proper resourcing, manpower, and performance management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality assurance standards as per company, customer, and legal requirements.
  • Chair daily production meetings with area supervisors, maintenance, quality, and material supply teams to discuss progress and resolve issues.
  • Continuously optimise production parameters to ensure high-quality product output.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across all production processes.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure production operations stay within budget.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, annual leave, and monthly payroll for the team.
  • Conduct employee appraisals, probationary reviews, and performance management.
  • Address employee issues and disciplinary matters in collaboration with the Plant Manager and HR.
  • Contribute suggestions for new initiatives and process improvements, including the definition of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain a zero-waste approach to ingredient and finished product handling, reducing risk to the business.
  • Lead and promote a safe working environment, ensuring Health & Safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Liaise with the customer service department to help maintain and improve customer service levels.
  • Ensure the facility is always Audit-ready and compliant with all necessary standards.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • A third-level education is desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, within Food Manufacturing, ideally in a high-volume production environment.
  • Previous experience in the dairy industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and achieve operational efficiency.
