We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Project Officer, on behalf of one of our well-known public sector clients. This role involves a blend of financial management, operational oversight & personnel support.
Location: CityWest, Co. Dublin Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary role Length of contract: Approximately 3-4 months (subject to change) Hours of work: 9:00am to 5:15pm, Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday Rate per hour: €30.65ph

The Role:
As a Finance Project Officer, you’ll play a key role in managing accounts, preparing financial returns, maintaining fixed assets, and supporting the implementation of new systems and processes. You will also work closely with the Financial Controller and provide vital assistance on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly management accounts with a focus on variance analysis and KPIs.
Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
Manage debtors/creditors journals, nominal ledgers, reconciliations, and control accounts.
Provide regular reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Prepare RCT returns and assist with ad-hoc financial projects as required.
Support the implementation of a new Financial Management System, including: Data testing and migration & Parallel system running and troubleshooting.
Staff training and preparation of system manuals.
Provide operational and personnel support to the CityWest Dublin office, with occasional travel to their Head Office for meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications & Experience:
A recognized third-level qualification (minimum NFQ Level 7 or equivalent), is required.
Full Category B driving license valid in Ireland, is required.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Proven experience in system implementation and roll-out.
Excellent working knowledge of financial management systems.
Experience with Fixed Asset Registers and management accounts.
Project management experience.
Relevant knowledge or experience in public sector finance.
Strong organisational, administration, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage a highly organised work environment and prioritise effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
Strong attention to detail.
