Transport Planner
We are delighted to be working with our client who are a multinational Logistics Solutions company who are seeking a Transport Planner to join their team on a Permanent Full time basis based in Cork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of preparing the daily transport plan in collaboration with other planners.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the daily plan, focusing on achieving maximum efficiency in routing for drivers, trucks, and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with Transport Administrators to ensure top-quality customer service, including clear communications, timely reporting, and paperwork returns.
  • Provide daily instructions and updates to drivers, ensuring clarity and relevance.
  • Monitor driver working hours to ensure balanced workdays and weeks, with regular reviews.
  • Contribute to driver leave requests and ensure availability of drivers during key periods.
  • Escalate planning-related matters to the Transport Manager/Operations Manager and safety/HR concerns to the appropriate managers in a timely manner.
  • Foster continuous improvement in planning processes and operational efficiency.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service in alignment with company values.
  • Identify potential improvement opportunities and share them with management.
  • Report quality, safety risks, and opportunities for improvement to supervisors or management.
  • Provide on-call support outside regular hours on a rotational basis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar transport planning role.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
