Engineering Stores Technician

We are delighted to be working with our client who are seeking an experienced Engineering Stores Technician to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract based in Cork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MRO operations within an engineering storeroom and possess in-depth knowledge of MRO parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the register of parts identified as obsolete or approaching obsolescence.
  • Contact OEM and OCM suppliers for stock parts to generate a register of obsolete parts and those nearing obsolescence.
  • Identify and evaluate all available sourcing options for parts listed in the obsolete parts register.
  • Add obsolescence timelines to all parts on the register to support risk assessments completed by others.
  • Collaborate with OEM and OCM suppliers to find the best equivalent parts to replace obsolete items where applicable.
  • Prepare specification packs for all proposed equivalent parts to enable the engineering teams to assess any required modifications for use on the plant.
  • Provide quotations for the best sourcing options for remaining obsolete parts across the supply chain, for consideration for potential stockpiling.

Requirements:

  • Typically 3+ years of experience in an inventory position.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working within a cGMP environment is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with site teams.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering parts.
  • Ability to adapt to change and meet set goals.
  • Ability to address engineering queries effectively.
