Finance Officer

Are you a finance professional with a strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset? This short-term role offers an opportunity to contribute to the finance function of a dynamic and impactful organization.

Location: Dublin 1
Contract Type: 3-6 Month Contract
Salary: €45,000 + DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and management of RCT and VAT on capital projects.
  • Ledger Management:
  • Support the maintenance of the creditors ledger, ensuring accurate expense recording and apportionment across program budgets.
  • Assist in managing the debtors ledger, including the entry of income from fundraising and rental sources.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare VAT, RCT, and Charity Claims returns for Revenue review.
  • Prepare financial returns for income and expenditure as required by funding agencies.
  • Provide bi-weekly financial updates to the Head of Finance.
  • Reconciliations: Review and reconcile petty cash and cash cards across services on a monthly basis.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal financial controls for purchasing and expenditure authorization.
  • Audit Support: Assist with the organization’s annual financial audit.Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Head of Finance to support service delivery.

Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified Accountant or Accounting Technician.
  • A relevant business degree or equivalent is desirable.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
  • Strong financial controls background.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector advantageous.
  • Familiarity with funding applications and interactions with state agencies is desirable.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
