Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a leading company based in Swords, is seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career by contributing to cutting-edge projects that enhance product performance and reliability.

Qualifications and Experience required for success:

  • Simulation Knowledge: Familiarity with simulation packages (CFD, FEA) for accurate modeling and characterization to accelerate design maturity.
  • GD&T Expertise: Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and applicable standards.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Practical experience with supplier or manufacturing fabrication processes (e.g., molding, machining, casting, coating).
  • Material Properties: Understanding of material properties to support design choices.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support across the engineering value chain to prevent outages within a high-performing manufacturing network.
  • Control Systems Engineering: Knowledge of control systems engineering (tuning motors, PID control, etc.).
  • Safety Standards: Familiarity with the Machinery Directive, CE Marking, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree (QQI level 8) in a technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or equivalent).
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficient in CAD modeling with a strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Strong mechanical, electromechanical, and systems design skills for both products and manufacturing fixtures.
  • A high-paced individual who is eager and passionate about developing and delivering solutions in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of ownership, accountability, and responsibility, delivering effective solutions from concept to implementation.
  • A key coach and mentor, supporting team development.
  • Excellent team player with strong decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
