Legal Secretary

Here at Osborne, we’re working in conjunction with one of Ireland’s top Criminal Law practices which is looking to add an experienced Legal Secretary to their busy, fast-paced team based in superbly refurbished, top-floor offices in Dublin 8. As a core member of this legal organization, you will join the wider legal support team to provide secretarial and administrative support to the partners and fee-earners of the office, helping them to provide top-level advocacy services in Irish and International Courts. Our client’s team is committed to providing quality and excellence in criminal and general litigation matters by providing professional legal information, advice and representation.

Salary: €30k-€40k DOE
Hours: 9am to 5:30pm (Mon to Fri)
Annual Leave: 21 Days
Location: Dublin 8

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be engaged in the following:
  • Audio typing from digital dictation
  • Diary Management
  • Preparation of briefs for Counsel
  • Opening, managing and archiving files
  • Data entry and update using case management system.
  • Processing legal aid claims
  • Communicating with clients by phone and e-mail
  • Photocopying, binding, and other general administrative tasks

Candidate Characteristics:

  • Demonstrable experience in all or most of the above responsibilities, preferably while working in a criminal law practice in Ireland.
  • Experience of Keyhouse or similar case management system
  • Audio typing speed of 60 WPM with a strong eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Well-developed organisational and prioritisation techniques
  • Knowledge and experience of Criminal Law terminology and procedure in Ireland

N.B. This role is not suitable for those currently studying towards their FE1 exams and applications from such candidates will not be progressed.
