Temporary Clerical Officer

Osborne is now seeking a Clerical Officer on a temporary basis to join an esteemed public sector client in their HR Unit. The HR Clerical Officer will be reporting to the HR Executive Officer and Higher Executive Officer.


  • €29,297 pro rata, equating to a rate of €16.10 per hour
  • 22 days of Annual Leave pro rata
  • 6 month temporary contract
  • Hybrid working model upon completion of probation

Key Requirements:

  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle including advertising of roles, organisation of interviews, pre-employment checks and issuing of contracts of employment.
  • Note taking during meetings and interviews
  • Management of offers to candidates and ensuring all pre-employment checks have been completed accurately.
  • Manage probation administration and ensuring up-to-date probation has been completed by each Department while ensuring compliance with probation processes.
  • Organise set up, on-boarding and induction for all new staff members.
  • Keep all HR policies and procedures and the staff handbook up-to-date.
  • Monitor staff compliance with all policies and procedures, including sick leave and unpaid leave.
  • Oversee absent management through Time Management System (TMS).
  • Manage responses to the HR inbox and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Answer telephone calls, deal with first level queries from the public and internal staff and redirect as appropriate.
  • Provide general secretarial/administrative support to include drafting general correspondence, preparing reports, spreadsheets, database reports and any other information as required
  • Ensure Data Protection requirements are met
  • Proactively identify new methods to make daily operations and processes more efficient and robust
  • Schedule and service meetings and organise room bookings as required
  • Provide assistance as required with events including preparation of correspondence, notifications, publications and promotional materials
  • Carry out such other duties as may be required
  • Participate fully in any cross functional training initiatives from time to time
  • Support the unit with all matters relating to its functions including day to day processes and general administrative support.
  • Oversee the TMS and run reports such as sick leave when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate HR filing systems on SharePoint and assist with HR audits of files, while ensuring that HR are complying with Data Protection regulation.
  • Ensure high standards are maintained in the HR Department, promote CORU's values through example and develop good working relationships with all staff members.
  • Participate fully in any cross functional initiatives from time to time.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of one year relevant administrative experience is essential, with HR experience preferred
  • Educated to leaving certificate level (or equivalent) with a further relevant qualification
