Part-Time Bookkeeper

We are currently working with one of Cork's leading practices, who are looking to recruit a Part-Time Bookkeeper. 

Location: Cork, Ireland

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a professional setting and possess the following strengths:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong motivation, commitment, and enthusiasm
  • Good time management skills
  • Payroll experience is desirable but not essentia

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the accounts department with bookkeeping tasks
  • Reconcile bank accounts and creditor statements
  • Process revenue returns
  • Work with various accounting software
  • Manage debtor and creditor ledgers
  • Review purchasing and sales invoices
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for manager review
  • Develop and maintain relevant spreadsheets
  • Maintain ongoing bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients across various industriesDevelop and support client relationships
  • Prepare tax returns including Income tax, VAT, RCT, Payroll, VIES Intrastat, etc.
  • Handle client and Revenue queries.


  • Previous accounting experience in a small/medium practice is a must
  • Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable dealing directly with clients
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency in accounting and office software, such as Thesaurus, Sage, Big Red Book, and ROS
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Word
