Health & Safety Co-ordinator/Administrator

Here at Osborne, we are hiring for a ‘Health & Safety Co-ordinator/Administrator’ for a well-known company in Kildare. They are dedicated to excellence in their operations and the well-being of their staff. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Co-ordinator/Administrator to join their team.

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Health and Safety Culture: Champion a robust health and safety culture by actively managing a near miss and hazard reporting system. Collaborate closely with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager and other department representatives to maintain and enhance workplace safety.
  • Audit Management: Oversee the site’s audit program, conduct regular safety inspections, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective and preventive measures. Work with department representatives to ensure timely resolution of any issues identified and assist the EHS Manager in preparing for external compliance audits.
  • Training and Communication: Identify and schedule both new and ongoing safety training requirements. Ensure all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered promptly. Develop and distribute health and safety communications, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts, to drive continuous improvement. Maintain an updated training matrix to ensure accurate documentation of all training activities.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Manage site-wide emergency preparedness, focusing on areas such as fire safety, chemical safety, and work-related vehicle safety, to ensure comprehensive readiness.
  • Incident Management: Promptly investigate, record, and report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Ensure that corrective actions are identified and implemented swiftly to prevent recurrence.
  • Risk and Safety Documentation: Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures, work instructions, and the company safety statement to maintain current and effective safety practices.
  • Contractor Management: Support the engineering department by managing the site’s contractor management program. Provide training on contractor safety requirements, update contractor information, and audit approved contractors and their activities. Ensure all relevant safety documentation complies with site and legal requirements.
  • Safety Reporting: Update daily safety management statistics for the senior management team, highlighting current trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.


  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience is required. No prior Health & Safety experience is required, although advantageous, but a strong interest in pursuing a career within Health & Safety is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willing to learn H&S-related software.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive, flexible and able to work independently to manage change, resolve issues and streamline processes.
  • Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
