Accounts Assistant/Credit Control

We are currently hiring for an ‘Accounts assistant/ Credit controller’ for a busy accommodation rental company based in Maynooth. Location: Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
Job Type: Full-Time, 1 year fixed-term contract.
Salary: €35-40K DOE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable: Managing the day-to-day operations of accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and processing of payments.
  • Credit Control: Monitoring outstanding debts, conducting credit checks, and maintaining effective communication with clients to facilitate timely payment.
  • Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling customer accounts to ensure all payments and discrepancies are accurately recorded.
  • Reporting: Preparing regular financial reports on account statuses and debt recovery and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support: Assisting the finance team with various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and answering queries related to accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Payroll: Assist in weekly payroll.


  • Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or relevant vocational training is desirable.
  • Experience: 3+ years proven experience in an accounts assistant and credit control role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Exchequer would be advantageous) and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Organization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, as this is an extremely busy environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive and solution-oriented approach to resolving issues and managing financial processes.
