Pension & Finance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Pension & Finance Officer to join our clients Finance Department. #This role is essential in managing the pension and finance function, ensuring efficient administration and support for the Finance Department's objectives.

Location: Dublin 8
Type: Permanent, 4 days per week
Salary: €47,000

Key Responsibilities of the Pension & Finance Officer:

  • Create and manage the Pension Databank.
  • Handle employee pensions on retirement.
  • Prepare Statements of Service for leavers and advise on options.
  • Estimate retirement benefits and advise on service purchases.
  • Prepare Service Verification details for staff purchasing service periods.
  • Communicate with pensioners and manage supplementary pension allowances.
  • Ensure correct costing and produce relevant reports.
  • Provide customer service support for pension-related queries.


  • Prepare monthly management reports.
  • Post monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare accounts to Trial Balance and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Perform monthly bank and cash entries, reconciliations, and cash lodgements.

General Office Duties

  • Carry out general office duties, including filing and maintaining sufficient stocks of stationery.
  • Ensure staff are provided with required information and support.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes impacting payroll services.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as required.

The Pension & Finance Officer will have/be:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance department, preferably within healthcare.
  • IATI Qualification (ideally)
  • Professional knowledge and experience in finance and pension administration.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail.
  • Excellent numeracy and MS Office Suite skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
