Business Development Executive

Here at Osborne, we are hiring a Business Development Executive for a manufacturing/construction company in Kildare. They are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join their team and help expand their market presence.

Location: On the road sales- Area: Dublin/East and line to Galway/Mayo.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential clients.
  • Prospect Development: Identify, target, and approach prospective clients through various channels, including networking, cold calling, and digital outreach.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve growth targets and expand the company’s customer base.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and proposing tailored solutions.
  • Presentations & Proposals: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients, showcasing our products/services.
  • Partnership Building: Foster strategic partnerships and alliances that support business growth and market expansion.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable deals, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on sales performance, market feedback, and trends, and adjust strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent the company and generate new business leads.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years proven experience in a business development, sales, or similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets, preferable within the construction/manufacturing industry, but not essential.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong understanding of sales processes, strategic prospecting, and deal-closing techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse market data, financials, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
  • Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
  • Proactive Approach: Highly motivated, self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle complex deals and close transactions effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Results driven: Ability to work towards KPI’s/targets as required.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel is required, as this is a fully based ‘on-the-road’ sales role.
