Bookkeeper

Here at Osborne, we are hiring a Bookkeeper for a dynamic and growing accountancy practice in Kildare, that are dedicated to providing exceptional service to their clients. Location: Fully on-site in Naas town centre, Co. Kildare.
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Reduced Hours, Permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Transaction Recording: Accurately record all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and transfers.
  • Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely payment and invoicing.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other management reports as required.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll preparation and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure adherence to tax filing requirements.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., Sage) to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to address queries and provide financial information as needed.
  • Supportive Duties: Assist with general administrative tasks and provide support to senior accountants and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance, or similar qualification is essential.
  • Experience: 3+ years proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll, preferably within a practice or similar environment.
  • VAT experience is also required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally and effectively with clients, team members and across the organization and various levels of staff and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Ethical Standards: High degree of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
